Request an estimateWhat does it take to enclose a covered patio in Anaheim?
A patio enclosure in Anaheim closes in the covered patio you already have with screens, glass or insulated walls that tie into the patio roof, so you end up with a real room sitting on your existing slab.
Most people who call us have a patio they like and hardly use, because the bugs, the wind or the late sun keep sending them back inside. The price mostly turns on which walls you pick and whether your cover and slab can carry them as they are. The schedule turns on the same thing, since any repair to the cover or slab has to happen before a wall goes up. If there's no cover yet, that starts with patio cover installation. Either way, you get your own number from the estimate visit at your house, once I've seen the patio in person.
How we build a patio enclosure
Your patio cover becomes the roof of the new room, so I start by checking how it's fastened to the house and how the posts and beams are holding up before we talk about walls at all. Then I look at the slab underneath, because the walls sit on it. If either one isn't up to the job, I tell you before we price anything, so you're choosing with the full picture. Once the base is settled, we go over wall options side by side, I measure, and our crew handles any prep on the slab, sets the walls square, ties them into the roof, seals them and cleans up when we're done.
Sometimes the cover isn't worth saving, and that's when sunroom construction makes more sense, because the roof and walls get built new as one room. If you want a room shaped around the house rather than the outline of the patio, we plan it as one of our custom sunrooms.
Building patio enclosures to Anaheim's rules
The City of Anaheim has changed the state building codes to fit local land, climate and ground conditions, and those changes apply to home projects, so every enclosure we build here is built to the city's version of the rules, not just the state's. We find out what the city's building office asks for on your project before we start. If anything is unclear, we check with the city before we build, and for questions about your own lot I'll point you to the city directly.
The city also says the threat of wildfire is real, especially in east Anaheim, and it uses the state's fire hazard map, which is on file at the Anaheim Fire Department. If you're on that side of town, look up your lot on the city's fire hazard zone page before we sit down to plan. Most patios we close in are slabs off the back of the house under an attached cover, and we see the same setup on jobs in Fullerton and Orange.
Why call us for your enclosure
I do the visit myself
Most of our calls around Anaheim come from homeowners who want a covered patio closed in, and I come out myself to look, measure and talk it through. You hear what I think of your cover and slab from the same person who prices the job.
Our own installers build it
Our lead installer and our own installers do the building, so the people on your patio are people we know. What we planned at the visit is what they build.
Licensed and fully insured
We're licensed and fully insured. That matters on a job where new walls get tied into a roof that's fastened to your house.
No wondering what's next
I ran schedules for a busy company for years before we started this business in 2013, and I learned that people relax when they know what's coming. We tell you what happens before each stage, so you aren't left guessing.

Frequently asked questions
Is a screen enclosure enough for Anaheim weather?
A screen room is enough if you mainly want to keep out bugs and debris and still feel a breeze, but it won't block heat, cold, dust or rain the way glass and insulated walls do. Insulated walls pair solid panels with windows, so they hold temperature better, give you more privacy and can be finished to match the house. Screens make a lighter, simpler project, so I'd only pick them if you'll mostly use the room on mild days.
Can my existing patio cover be the roof of an enclosed patio?
Usually yes, as long as it's firmly attached to the house and sits on sound posts and beams, because the enclosure walls tie straight into it. A cover that sags, rattles in the wind or was built as a light shade structure may not be up to being a roof. That's general guidance, so the real answer for yours comes from looking at it in person.
What if my patio slab is cracked or doesn't reach the edge of the cover?
A slab that's cracked, has settled or slopes too much may need leveling or repair first, so the walls sit square and seal properly. A slab that stops short of the cover's edge may need to be extended so the walls have something to stand on. You can check both before the estimate by looking at where the concrete ends and how it looks under the cover.
What license should a contractor have to enclose a patio in California?
Ask which license they hold for enclosure work, because the state contractor license board says its awning license covers awnings and patio covers but not patio enclosures. By the board's own description, an awning license on its own doesn't cover this job, so it's a fair question to ask anyone who comes out to price it.
How much does a patio enclosure cost in Anaheim?
Your price comes down to the walls you choose, the size of the opening and whether the cover or slab needs work first, so I give you a number only after seeing the patio. Screens usually come in lower than glass, insulated walls with windows sit higher, and extras like a ceiling fan or a mini-split add to it. A visit gets you a figure for your own patio.
How do I keep an enclosed patio cool in an Anaheim summer?
Plan for air movement and shade from the start, because a glass-heavy enclosure in a hot area can warm up quickly. A ceiling fan, windows that open and shades help keep the room usable, and some homeowners add a ductless mini-split for heating and cooling so the room works all year. We talk through which of those your room needs when we choose the walls.
